WHAT IF GIANTS, ALIENS, ROSWELL, AND A HIDDEN WORLD BENEATH OUR FEET... REALLY EXISTED?

THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN GIANTS.

There is an interesting conspiracy theory I ran across recently. Two gigantic humanoid skeletons purported to be well over eight feet tall secretly hidden in the basement of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, which admittedly smacked a little of the conspiracy of Pee Wee Herman’s stolen bicycle being hidden in the basement of the Alamo (and for those not familiar with the movie, or the Alamo--there is no basement in the Alamo.)

The question in my mind is, if giants really did exist why would the proof be “hidden”in the basement of the Smithsonian? One article I read eluded to the idea that it is a conspiracy against “creationists”; people who believe that the world is only five thousand years old. How or why it makes any difference to creationists doesn’t really resonate with me, but perhaps framing it (or any far out idea) as a “conspiracy” makes it more believable to people that wouldn’t believe it otherwise. Perhaps it is the lure of an unattainable secret.

Looking at it realistically, it is important to know humans nearly eight feet tall are not uncommon. It’s called “gigantism” which is a rare physical condition caused by hyperplasia in the pituitary gland, and there are a number of cases that have been documented over the years, but they are not “true” giants. They are simply large people suffering from physical defect, and like very large dogs or any specie that is abnormally large, they tend to not live very long.

Real giants on the other hand, are not abnormal. Large is their natural state. It has long been rumored that a colony of giant humans may have existed in certain places in the world, one in particular, in the United States. Supposedly archeologists have uncovered the remains of what appears to be a colony of such beings: massive mound graves, found in Illinois and Missouri, attributed over the years to a tribe of Native Americans living in the area who readily admit that they did not build them, nor do they know who did.

With this in mind let me take you on a journey that has intrigued me for years, and I will tell you upfront, it is a journey based on “WHAT IF” and information that I don’t know to be absolutely true, but still there is enough tangible data to make some of it at least plausible. You can judge that for yourself.   

ROSWELL, New Mexico

We will start this journey in a very unusual place. The year is 1947. The place--around 100 miles north of a town called Roswell, New Mexico. A local rancher, W.W. Brazell, finds the remains of something he cannot explain. Unaware of reported sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the area several nights before, he really has no idea what he has found. He contacts the local authorities, who in turn, contact the government, and within a day the Air Force issues a statement of a crashed weather balloon. At the same time government vehicles converge on the site and extract whatever it was that crashed. The event was never allowed to become a headline in newspapers around the world and consequently, and maybe conveniently, forgotten about until late in 1970 when retired lieutenant colonel Jesse Marcel, in an interview, said he believed the debris they retrieved was extraterrestrial. Suddenly the news of Roswell exploded on the world.

I remember driving cross Oklahoma (1978) when I heard the reports of a flying saucer that had crashed near Roswell, New Mexico; a little over 20 years before, but it wasn’t until I bought a book years later entitled “The Day After Roswell” by United States Army Colonel Philip J. Corso and William J. Birnes, that I became seriously interested in what happened. But even then, my interest involved several aspects of the crash that not many people seemed to be talking about.

Imagine walking into someone’s home or office. The first things you will probably notice are pictures on the walls and any number of different family memorabilia. The same is true of someone’s office. As a sales professional whenever I met with someone in their office I made it a point to look at how it was decorated: family pictures, awards, things of interest. You can learn a lot by just looking at what people chose to surround themselves with. The point is, as humans, we surround ourselves with “proof of life” tokens. My question was, what did they find in the spaceship? To my surprise it was reported that there was nothing inside the space craft; no seats, no instruments, no controls of any kind, much less humanizing memorabilia; only a head band that supposedly allowed the pilot to telepathically control the craft.

Then there was something else even more puzzling. There are no photographs of the spacecraft (in the book), only a rough drawing, but one account said the ship was small enough that it could be loaded on a standard semi truck-bed, which is supposedly what happened, and then it was hurriedly shipped off to an empty hanger at the now infamous Area 51.

But for however rudimentary the drawing is, something becomes glaringly clear. If you look at it closely, the first thing you’ll notice is, it is not a saucer shape at all. If anything it is more of a triangle (manta-ray) looking “aircraft”, with what looks like a dorsal spine across the top of the fuselage, looking very much like the upturned serrated blade of a knife. Somewhere along the way, the design was apparently copied by our aircraft engineers and used in the design of aircraft developed in the stealth BLACK PLANE program. Supposedly it had something to do with controlling airflow and drag at supersonic speeds. Even stranger, the tips of the wings were bent upward like vertical stabilizers.

So here is the mystery in a nutshell. Why would a space craft that supposedly can move in any direction at super/super sonic speeds (as has been reported), need “wings”. And the design appears to be unidirectional, meaning it was designed to move forward. And why was there nothing inside: no space suits, no landing party equipment, no provisions of any kind? The ship was obviously not meant for interstellar travel, and clearly designed for flying in an atmosphere. The obvious answer, IT WASN’T A SPACECRAFT. The even more intriguing possibility is, it’s not even extraterrestrial. Certainly, it is far beyond anything that any known country on earth could build, so where did it come from?

Maybe the answer can maybe found in a rather unexpected place. I realize this next step of connecting the dots is on the “fringe”, often supported by people who are at the very least--bizarre, but as I mentioned earlier, even the most far out theories often have elements of truth to them, and this begins with a very reputable individual.

COULD THE “HOLLOW EARTH” BE REAL?

Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd, JR, recipient of the Medal Of Honor, the highest honor for valor bestowed by the American government, known for his explorations of both the North and South Pole, reported on his third expedition over Antarctica (South Pole) 1946-47 that they came across an opening at the bottom of the world. Flying down into it they reported losing their instruments and then suddenly they were flying over lush tropical forests. Below they saw prehistoric mammoths as well as other animals no longer living on the surface. He testified before the United States Congress that he had landed the plane and met a highly advanced civilization of uncommonly tall people--what we would refer to as giants. There is another twist to this, the giants were not the only inhabitants of this “inner earth”. There was also a race of beings that looked REPTILIAN and were noticeably smaller than a normal human. Admiral Byrd said the name of this amazing place in Hollow Earth was called “AGARTHA”.

Now consider this for a moment (with an open mind). In 1982, Dale Russell –at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa – published a paper proposing that an intelligent ‘dinosauroid’ might one day have evolved had the dinosaurs not perished 65 million years ago. He conjectured that some may very well have evolved into what we think aliens look like today had they survived. Now, it is important for me to point out that it is highly unlikely that all dinosaurs had the ability to evolve, just as not all mammals had the ability to evolve, but WHAT IF one, like the carnivorous bipedal dinosaur Troodon, with its unusually large brain, and already developed long arms and fingers, looking even then, more humanoid than saurian, had actually survived the extinction event of 65 million years ago. It would have been on the evolutionary timeline thousands of years BEFORE “mammals”, and their evolution, foreseeably be, thousands of years ahead of us.

WHAT IF--they survived, finding protection in the “Hollow Earth” when the mass extinction event of sixty-five million years ago wiped out the dinosaurs population on the surface.

WHAT IF they, having survived the cataclysm continued to evolve? Is it so far out to think that they might actually have evolved into what was found in Roswell? Of course, it is all conjecture, and there are just as many detractors of the Hollow Earth theory, and the evolution of dinosaurs, as there are believers. But no matter the arguments “for or against” they can’t erase the possibility of “WHAT IF”.

He also recorded everything is his personal diary which has also been made available to the public by the family, and can be found on various Internet platforms.

But in regards to Admiral Byrd’s discovery of what he called “Giants” in the Hollow Earth, there are other reputable accounts as well. “Giants” are even mentioned in biblical history--the Bible speaks of them in a number of passages as the offspring of angels and mortal women--and the ancient Hebrews called them “Nephilim” which were the predecessors to an even larger race of giants called the “Anikim”-- the last of which were two brothers who appeared in the Philistine city of GATH. Their names are Lahmi and Goliath and though I have not seen much on Lahmi (other than he was killed by a Hebrew warrior called Elhanan), we know more about his brother Goliath, who was killed by David. He is described in biblical text as being 6 cubits and one span tall. Translated into our metrics, he would have been roughly just under twelve feet tall. For a little perspective, if you have ever seen a picture of Andre the Giant (a famous Wrestler) who was 7 feet 4 inches, Goliath would have towered over him by almost five feet. Goliath, who was not only tall, but massively large as well, so massive in fact, that a normal horse could not have carried him. He would likely have had to be moved from battle site to battle site by a wagon pulled either by a number of horses or even oxen, and it would have taken another such wagon just to move his massive armor and weapons. Just the size of him would have instilled fear in any army opposing them.

Anikims, were readily identifiable not only by their size, but (supposedly even Goliath) had six fingers on each hand. And the city of Gath is an area in Israel, known for caves, and there are those, who support the Hollow Earth theory, who believe that certain cave systems around the globe actually lead down to the lands of the Hollow Earth. WHAT IF Goliath and his brother were actually refugees who escaped to the surface by one of those caves.

There is also another interesting twist to this “Hollow Earth” story. Much of the orders for Admiral Byrd’s orders to explore the South Pole and Antarctica, came from a very real concern, on the part of the Allies during World War Two that Nazi submarines had actually discovered the opening in Antarctic leading to an unknown underworld, and had created actual maps and an elaborate plan of escape for Hitler and several thousand German scientists should Germany lose the war. The fear was that Hitler and the Third Reich could wait out the war and eventually, at some point, reinsert themselves back into world, which fortunately did not happen.

So why does any of this even matter? And maybe it doesn’t to many people. But so often we as human beings fail to see the most wondrous things around us; things that otherwise might have enriched our lives making our own existence, deeper and more meaningful meaning. As human beings we tend to see the world as if looking through a knothole in a fence, only seeing what we want to see, never realizing that the mysteries of the universe were never meant to be secrets--if we had only thought to ask...“WHAT IF”.
